Best Barefoot Winter Boots (2023)
This article has been a long time coming. Our last winter boot round up was in 2021! Since then, numerous more models, barefoot shoe companies, and of course more exploration in many climates have happened, leading us all to this new best per category moment. Our winters in Israel are not as cold or as snowy as some. but there are still moments that have us cuddled under our blankets drinking hot cocoa and wearing our warmest barefoot slippers. We have also been the first to

Episode 77: Groundies Alaska GX1 Women
Groundies is one of the few barefoot shoes companies that have managed to create a wide toe box that looks so much like a 'regular' shoes. I absolutely love the variety that Groundies offers, from sneakers to shoes to boots to sandals, they have a wonderful selection of really unique styles. You can see that each model is thoughtfully and artistically designed. I have regular volume and width feet and the width and toe box of Groundies shoes fit me perfectly. If you have ver

Episode 76: Groundies All Terrain High
Groundies has such a wide variety of shoes to choose from it can get overwhelming. Luckily, they have many in store locations located around Europe and we were able to try them on in their Vienna location in Austria. Right away we were impressed by how lightweight these boots were and how tastefully designed with quality workmanship. We actually got the last green and black model in stock, so we were really lucky and grateful that we came just in time. Without the insole they

Episode 71: Wildling Yew & Robinia
Introduction: Sara : I always look forward to trying Wildlings newest shoe models. They seem to nail it perfectly every time and yet somehow each new style is even better than the previous one. My favorite part about them is their natural organic feel and their genius Tabi sole. I generally try to wear all natural clothing like cottons, linen, and wool and really love how Wildlings embrace natural fabrics and truly live by their message of Re:generation and sustainability. Episode 70: Barefoot Pals
This is easily the softest most flexible shoe I have ever worn. Despite arriving completely flat in an envelope and concerns about it having that clown look, it actually looks so fabulous on the foot, has a normal foot shape and because it is so flexible it does not restrict movement in any way. I spent the past few days wearing this shoe for the holiday season and I was so so impressed it felt like I wasn't wearing shoes at all! Click here to access the Barefoot Pals websit

Minimalist Tactical Boot Guide
When we say the word tactical we tend to think military, but it actually also refers to police, riot control, firefighters, coast guard, security forces and people who are required to wear some form of tactical gear for their job. This article is really unique because tactical gear and in particular tactical footwear are regulated by the military, law enforcement, or other government branches you may be part of. This can make it very difficult for tactical individuals who are

Episode 64: Freet Ibex
As an avid hiker and outdoorsy person, I'm always on the search for the perfect hiking boot. With its nice aesthetic, water resistance, and amazing grip, the Freet Ibex checks off all the right boxes for a serious hiker. We actually got it after realizing that their Mudee, which we also love, did not provide enough traction for very muddy and slippery terrain. The Ibex sits a bit higher on the ankle like a true hiking boot yet is still way more flexible than a conventional on

Episode 61: Xero Gracie
I have been volunteering on horse ranches for over 10 years and have been struggling to find a rubber boot that I can rinse off easily that isn't heavy, bulky or just plain uncomfortable. I would always come to the ranch and reluctantly switch out of whatever barefoot shoe I was wearing and put on heavy galoshes. The Xero Gracie waterproof rain boot has just changed my ranch and rainy weather adventures completely! What a wonderful experience it is to slip your foot into the

Episode 58: Magical Shoes - Lupino
I've seen many chelsea type boots in barefoot models and was yet to find one that was truly aesthetically pleasing. Many of the models I've seen were less flattering shapes or just didn't look like good quality. The handmade Lupino boot both feels like quality and looks like quality and is so aesthetically pleasing. I was looking forward to trying the spring model since it's a more breathable option of a chelsea type boot for spring or fall. The boot is super lightweight and

We have had the privilege to trial their updated version of the trail runner, The Terraflex 2. The Terraflex 2 looks quite like the traditional sneaker/hiking shoe at a glance. Episode 51: Wildling Fir
Introduction: These were my first ever pair of Wildlings. They are more of a winter/fall pair due to their wool lining. The color is extremely intriguing and playful at the same time. They reminds me of the forest and nature and the bold green hue pops anywhere. Needless to say I was impressed straight out of the box. I also was impressed by how fast the shipping was. I got it in about 3-4 days from when the order was placed. On top of all that knowing that the founders hail
