Toe socks have gone hand in hand with barefoot shoes since the barefoot gods existed. In this article, we will dive into all the options and wide toe box socks that are good for your feet if you're not so into separated toes.

Why do socks even matter? Aren’t barefoot shoes enough?

Many mainstream socks do something similar to what non-barefoot shoes do by pushing the toes together. Which can encourage movement dysfunction and poor big toe alignment. Toe socks can many times act as partial toe separators and assist by pushing the toes slightly apart, and if you are a runner or hiker, they can help prevent blisters.

Creeper Socks (called because they are creepy) come at the top of the list. They are a merino wool blend based out in New Zealand, but they ship worldwide with a US warehouse. They come in tons of funky colorways, crew, mid, calf, no show, boot, and they release limited edition colorways a few times a year. We can swear by these even in times when we couldn’t change our socks for a couple of days. They are comfortable, moisture wicking, breathable, and great all year round both cold and warm.

Next up is Maro. These are organic cotton toe socks, coming in white and black, and they also have grip socks as well. They come in a few colors, and they also released a wool line. They also have a full line of natural clothing, which our favorite is this blue sweatshirt that we wear all the time.

This was one of the first to popularize toe socks. They have the widest variety of patterns and colorways, different lengths, they run sales where you can get a pair for free, and they have limited edition holiday designs for the absolute funkiest colorways. While most of their sock history historically were synthetic materials, they released a merino wool toe line as well. Seems trendy. Our most favorite was their compression socks, which were discontinued for a while but they just brought back.

We use this in sports and with our wide barefoot cleat collection for added grip. They also sell a variety of foot health accessories and wedges.
